Cultural Competency: Consciousness Raising and Affective Component (CCISATP-CRAC)

CCISATP-CRAC is a “Free” three-day training that exposes participants to an array of subjects that pertain to the delivery of a higher level of person, family and community centered substance use services from cultural frameworks that better serve a diversity of clients and communities and supports recovery and wellness equity and inclusion. This training serves as an introduction to the topic of cultural competence (cultural humility and responsiveness) with the goal of allowing participants to explore this issue on a more affective level, while incorporating cognitive information on the stages of racial and cultural identity development, bias and stereotypes, and oppression. This training is approved by NYS-OASAS for 18 CASAC renewal hours. (NYS OASAS Education and Training Provider# 1198). The training is open to CASAC and other Qualified Health Professionals and Peer Professionals. Persons seeking to obtain continuing education credits other than CASAC renewal hours will need to check with their professional credentialing board to see if this training meets the requirements for continuing education credit hours towards their professional credential or credentials. The training will be available live in-person at the Brooklyn Community Recovery Center and virtually via Zoom. Enrollment in this training is by RSVP only, on a first come basis. Full participation in all three training days is required. Enrollment deadline is Thursday Sept. 8th.
