This training provides individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to support individuals in their recovery journey with the use of medications. This training covers topics such as the different types of medication-assisted treatment, the benefits and risks, Trainees also learn about the importance of collaboration with healthcare providers and addressing stigma surrounding medication-assisted treatment. Medication-assisted treatment services face myths and stigmas, including misconceptions about substituting one addiction for another and skepticism about the effectiveness and necessity of medications in recovery. These myths and stigmas also include concerns about dependency on medications and the perception that individuals are not truly in recovery while utilizing medication-assisted treatment services.
