The certification board recognizes that provision of excellent supervision is arguably the most important aspect of enhancing and sustaining an agency’s peer program, allowing for the most effective peer support services and improved client outcomes. Therefore, they have created a certification pathway for Peer Professional Supervision which includes this 20 hour course. We will review quality supervision which allows Peer Recovery Professionals to identify and grow their unique strengths, effectively address areas for improvement, and truly flourish in their professional lives. As a result, employee retention is enhanced because peers feel valued; self-care is prioritized; and trust and safety are paramount.
This curriculum was developed by Lisa Nichols, with a Master’s Degree in Education and years of experience with Peer Work and Supervision as well as facilitating Learning Collaboratives for both.
