What’s new in the Education and Training department at FOR-NY?

As you know, FOR-NY staff travels all over the state to provide training for Recovery Community Organizations, Recovery Advocates and Peer Recovery Professionals. Our focus is to provide you with the knowledge that you need to help educate people in recovery, their family members and recovery allies, about the power and promise of recovery and how to build recovery capital in communities across NYS.

Our training include:

Our Stories Have Power; Recovery Messaging – Training of Trainers to teach the recovery community to use non-stigmatizing, positive, recovery affirming language.

$25 for 3 CRPA/CARC re-certification credits and/or 3 CASAC/CPP/CPA re-credentialing credits and trainer certificate.

Next training: June 2018 Western NY region.  Date & Location to be announced.

Science of Addiction and Recovery – Train the Trainer – providing recovery advocates the knowledge to speak confidently about the science behind Addiction and Recovery to various stakeholders.

$50 for 6 CRPA/CARC re-certification credits/CASAC/CPP/CPA re-credentialing credits and trainer certificate.

Next training: Lake Placid – April 13th, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Space is limited.

Community Asset Mapping – a how to on identifying the strengths of our communities and effective strategies on collaboration and partnership.

This is a free RCO training that offers 3 Peer Professional (CRPA/CARC) re-certification credits

Next training: Finger Lakes, July 2018.  Date and Location to be announced.

Peer Professional Supervision – teaches the core competencies of Peer Professionals and discusses best practices for supervision.

Next training: Plattsburgh, Tuesday & Wednesday, 4/24 & 4/25/18, $100 for 12 credits
