The FOR-NY Recovery Art Festival, first held in 2003, provides budding artists in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs with an opportunity to express themselves through a variety of mediums including photography, watercolor, pencil, oil/pastel, mixed media, pen & ink, acrylic, traditional poetry (English & Spanish) and hip hop (English & Spanish).
Entries for the FOR-NY 2017 Recovery Arts Festival will be accepted through July 28th. This year’s theme is “Recovery is Real. Attainable. Sustainable. Powerful.” We know it is; and we can’t wait to see how our friends in recovery use their creativity and imagination to create art that expresses this truth for all to see!
All entries will be exhibited at the Empire State Plaza in Albany throughout the month of September (National Recovery Month) and winning entries in each category will be displayed at the NYS Recovery Conference. Winning artists will be recognized at an awards program held on the opening night of the conference.
