Additional Information:

Microaggressions are statements, actions or incidents regarded as an instance of indirect, subtle or unintentional discrimination against members of a marginalized group. Microaggressions negatively impact professional relationships and workplace environments. Participants will learn strategies to improve relationships and communication to respond to microaggressions. This two hour training is part of a 12 hour cultural competence training.

– Participants will be introduced to various forms of racism.
– Participants will identify how covert/overt prejudice interferes with the peer relationship. identify an area of cultural competency that needs improvement, and identify one strategy for beginning this change.
– Participants will be introduced to various forms of microaggression.
– Participants will learn empowering language to use when receiving or responding to microaggression as a peer professional.

2 Hour CARC Elective, all CARC and CRPA renewals
