oin us for our June offering and participant favorite, Applied Motivational Interviewing. We will meet on Zoom on June 1st and 3rd from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm EST. This course is approved by the NYCB for CRPA renewal credits and CARC electives.

This Applied Motivational Interviewing (MI) training is designed for recovery coaches, addiction counselors, and social workers who want to deepen their ability to apply MI skills in real-world settings. Building on foundational MI concepts, this course emphasizes practical integration—using core strategies intentionally while walking alongside individuals through their person-driven recovery journeys. Participants will strengthen their ability to evoke change talk, respond skillfully to sustain talk, and remain grounded in empathy and collaboration amid complex, unpredictable fieldwork. Through case-based discussion, role practice, and reflection, learners will explore how to adapt MI to diverse environments, shifting stages of change, and systemic barriers that often arise in recovery-oriented work. Special attention is given to maintaining fidelity to MI while honoring autonomy, culture, and lived experience. This training supports professionals in moving beyond technique toward confident, values-aligned practice that enhances engagement, supports self-determination, and fosters meaningful, sustainable change in the lives of the people they serve.
