Goal: Participants will review how trauma can affect individuals with substance use problems and potential vulnerability to vicarious trauma underscoring the need to build personal resiliency.

Objectives:
• Identify potential signs of trauma in persons with substance use disorders
• Define vicarious trauma or secondary stress, burn out, compassion fatigue
• Identify signs of trauma exposure responses
• Identify when to step away from a client situation
• List ways peers can build resiliency
• Develop a personalized wellness plan
