FOR-NY is excited to announce that Commissioner Arlene González-Sánchez has approved OASAS funding to provide scholarships for Peers to attend the New York Recovery Conference and Celebration on October 1-2, 2017 in Albany, NY. Friends of Recovery-NY will coordinate the application/approval process and payment of 40 scholarships (20 upstate and 20 downstate- 3 for each Borough and 5 from Long Island).
Selection Criteria for Scholarship Awardees
Applicants must meet any one or combination of the following:
- Peers that have completed recovery coach training
- Peers that are CRPAs, provisional CRPAs or CARCs
- Peers that are currently volunteering at a Recovery Community Organization (RCO), Recovery Community and Outreach Center (RCOC), Youth Clubhouse (YCH)
- Peers that are currently employed within the SUD system and/or RCOC/RCOs
Scholarships Include
- Conference Registration for 2-days
- 1 night hotel lodging (must live more than 50 miles from Albany)
Scholarships Do Not Include
- Transportation
- Meals (Note- Recovery Celebration dinner on the evening of October 1 is included in scholarship)
